ReplyDeleteYou have several good books listed here under your additional resources. I am especially fascinated by John Gottmans work about emotion coaching. It is evident in our society that there are many people going about every day life that have not ever learned to properly acknowledge, process, and manage their emotions. What a provocative and perfectly practical goal he has to work with and equip families to relate together to learn how to self regulate emotions. This is a resource I would like to read in order to see how I can put it to use every day in my own personal life, as well as in my work with young children. I am going to add his web site to my blog's resource page.
I particularly liked your resource called “The Learners Way”. I noticed within the summary of the book that it mentioned a section called how to develop a positive climate for learning. In my view this is an underappreciated and very important topic to study and address. Every teacher has their own style and classroom environment, but I sometimes think teachers are reinventing the wheel each year instead of being provided the information on which classroom climates and environments work best for learning. I hope more research and study are conducted in the future on this important topic. Thank you for this resource.
