Assuming I'm bringing my family already, I think I'd personally bring a Koran, my lap top, and my jewelry box.
The Koran is very important to me, because my faith and relationship with God is my first priority in my life. . It is the book where I find the strength, courage, and inspiration in it. It is like a compass for me in this life. It guides me through life according to what I believe is God wishes.

My lap top is very important to me, because it helps to stay connected with all the people that I am away from. It helps to know what is going on in the world. My laptop is very important to me, because it contains more than 5000 family pictures for me and my family, and a copy all my personal papers like a copy of my passport as well as my kids’ passports, and identity cards.
My jewelry box is very important of me, because in it I put all my valuable jewelry and I always put extra money in it. It also has my daughter’s jewelry from when she was a baby. Every year on my daughter’s birthday we buy her a gold dollar, so by the time she will be 25 years old, she will have 25 gold dollars and this would be a great present for her. I am sure this is something that I will never want to lose.
If I was forced to give up two items I'd probably give up the jewelry box and the Koran. I'd probably cry the most about giving up my jewelry box, because I was doing this for years to make my daughter happy one day, it also contains a lot of valuable jewelry pieces like the presents that I received from my grandmother who passed away 5 years ago. I'd keep my lap top because it allows me to stay in connected to my former life. I could read or listen to the Koran on my laptop. I will for sure buy new jewelry for myself and I will continue to do what I was doing for my daughter. I will also use the laptop to relive and recall my best memories and events that happened in my life with my lovely two kids, husband, parents, and everyone that I love. This is a great exercise; it helped me to think of people who for any reasons have to leave everything behind them, because of war, tsunami, etc
I noticed from doing this exercise that I have no problem giving up all the things that I have, but I will never imagine myself living or being disconnected from my family. My family is everything to me simply it is who am I. I don’t care if I lose all my valuable things as long as my family is intact.
I considered my laptop as well, but assume that technology doesn't work in your new location/world/society. Then what? Jewelry is tangible, connected with emotions and memories, the Koran contains history and education... this has been a very thought provoking assignment. Great post!
