Sharing Web Resources

UNICEF is on the ground in over 150 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments  (UNICEF website).

Working in over 150 countries, UNICEF is a global humanitarian relief organization providing children with health care and immunizations, clean water, nutrition and food security, education, emergency relief and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's humanitarian relief work through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States.

There are many ways to join UNICEF's humanitarian relief efforts and save kids' lives, I considered signing up to receive regular updates about UNICEFs worldwide child survival programs.

What caught my attention on the UNICEF website is the video of a young Somali refugee recovering from malnutrition with help from UNICEF and its partners, and a father’s love.  Our basic needs are viewed as luxuries  by other people and children living in countries like in Somalia, Palestine, and many areas in Africa. UNICEF is helping reducing the death rates in all these countries as well as improving their quality of life.

Thank you for sharing information about UNICEF. I went to the website and viewed the video you reference. Children across the world may have different ways of life and certainly have different hardships than U.S. children. What is definitely not different is how strong the love of a parent can be!

  2. Bouthania,

Great informative post! I once experience a situation with families who definitely showed me being poor do not mean you are without money it just mean that you met the poor standards. They told me that their family share alot of love and support for each other through hardships, so that what makes them feel wealthy and healthy.
