Research Simulation

I chose to research the topic how early experiences influence brain development and how as teachers we use the findings from early brain development research to enhance early childhood programs and to support young children’s development in all areas (cognitive, physical, and social emotional).  I chose this topic for my simulation because I believe that the interaction between children and adults in their lives is the most essential experience in shaping the architecture of the developing brain. I found that narrowing my research to one chosen topic very beneficial as it was easier to find more specific information. This allowed me to be more specific in my research. I was able to understand how to use, and how to write the literature review. This process helped me to organize my ideas and to focus on the main topic that my research paper is going to be about.
Completing the research chart was very helpful as it guided me through the research process. I found the part of defining the terms using my own words as very beneficial, because it helped me to better comprehend the research process and how to conduct it.

I am going to ask all my colleagues to never hesitate to share with me any resources or experiences that will give me a new ideas or different perspective on the topic of brain development and on the influence of positive or negative early interactions on brain development.
